MAT 331 - M003 - First Course in Linear Algebra - Spring 2014

The course will cover the following topics: linear equations, linear transformations, matrices, n-dimensional Euclidean spaces, associated geometry. Credit will not be given for both MAT 331 and MAT 485. More information about the course can be found below.

  • Text: Linear Algebra and its Applications, by David C. Lay, Fourth Edition, Addison-Wesley.

  • Office Hours: Tu 3:20 - 4:20 and Th 3:30 - 5:00, and by appointment
  • Midterm Exams: Thursday, February 13, and Thursday, April 10
  • Final Exam: Monday, May 5, 2014, 12:30 - 2:30, SOM 007
  • Grading: Quizzes will comprise 20% of the course grade, each Midterm Exam will count 25%, and the Final Exam will count 30%
  • Homework: Will be assigned (see the list below) but not collected
  • Calculator Policy: Calculators are not allowed in the exams and in the quizzes
